Android systems for Raspberry Pi 4, 3 and 2

Five versionsREAD more about my Android systems for Raspberry Pi…

The KitKat version has one advantage over the 11, 10, Pie, Oreo, Nougat and Marshmallow versions: You can run the system also on older computers. Note: KitKat Exton Build 10 also uses Google Play Store as App Manager.

Note that Android-x86 KitKat 4.4.4 Exton Build 10 can run on many more laptops/computers than AndEX (Android-x86/Android-x86_64) 11, 10, Pie 9.0, Oreo 8.1, Nougat 7.1.2, Marshmallow 6.0.1 and Lollipop 5.1.1.

  1. I am still a “newbie” (self-taught) but find it relatively easy to solve most conflicts on my own… I started out in college (20 yrs ago) using Unix computers and had the priveledge of being in the computer lab the day the internet was 1st available (loved that netscape and icq!!). Anyhow, after falling for the “your drivers are outdated” pop-up over a year ago which completely jacked up my Dell Inspiron 1525 windows 7 installation & losing ALL of my 3000+ photos & 1200+ music video collection… I got absolutely no help from microsoft or Dell because unfortunately I was informed my windows version of windows was bootlegged! After trying unsuccessfully to repair my win registry and discovering how nasty the virus actually was, i wiped the harddr8ve and ordered a plethera of linux live cd/dvd distros. Its taken me a year of trial and error (the inspiron 1525 is one of the hardest machines to format & get everything working with linux (especially with the broadcom wireless), & even after finding & tweaking a distro to where everything fuctioned just right, everytime I would try to apply an update or security patch, (esp. Using the Synaptic Pkg Mgr) I always sumhow end up w/major conflicts & ultimately breaking my install! Finally after many months of sheer determination & experimentation, i found several ways to get a distro to run w/o issues, on live cd/dvds, usb drives w/persistence, and hd installations. Ive had the best luck with pclinux os, linux mint, backbox, puppy linux retro, and kali. I am extremely interested & looking forward to trying your android flavors next, not only on the inspiron, but also on the 2007 hp compaq desktop i just aquired that has a corrupted Vista install. Im on disability & in an extremely volitile abusive relationship (im not allowed friends or to even see outside..the windows r boarded up), but as soon as i can find a way i will definitely be ordering at least 1 disc! It may take me a few months (its hard to hide $ & even harder to get my mail b4 he does) but the main point im trying to make is a message to the naysayers commenting they shouldnt have to pay for a copy….The work you’re doing is unique and im sure youve out ALOT of time & effort intonit! Your site is extremely informative and ve4y well designed! So without even having the ability to try this yet, I applaud your work and effort & believe you could charge so much more & itd still be worth it!! I think this would help me alot, especially when it comes to inter-device communication, as its so hard to have the pc recognize most devices (even while using kies, pc suite, etc.. i get alot of older, non-working or infected android phones given to me, and have been earning a little $ here and there fixing them & selling them (& hope someday to save enuf to escape this situation! We need more ppl like u out there, u are doing an awesome thing, so ignore the complainers & keep up the good work!

  2. I would like to know… If i pay for your 5.0.2 android version does that included the updates after?
Because investing in something like this (since its intended to be free(open source) I would expect free updates…

You can reply here or by email …
    Would be appreciated

    • Well, if you install my Lollipop 5.0.2 version to hard drive or to a USB stick with persistence ( all installed/included apps will be updated all the time or after a reboot.

When my Lollipop 5.1 version is ready that will be a new system though (which you have to order separately if you want it).

  3. 5.1.1 ready yet? With video playback? YouTube working? If you do this I’m sure your sales will skyrocket.

  4. Yes, I guess, but right now I’m having problems with PayPal (or/and possibly Google Inc.) so I’m not so keen on doing anything.

  5. Hi. Very interested in your version of android 4.4.4 because. I have trouble with official version. Skype closes at start up. Sound not working. How I can be sure your version would work fine on my laptop? Would you be able to support, help to resolve issues?

  6. The page says pay 9.00, but the payment thing on the side of the page says “donate’?????? I want to try these, but I’m not gonna pay for something that I don’t know even works??? I know you putting a lot of information on the page, but I do not know you, so no offence, but why should I just take your word for it??

  7. Awesome build! Both Lollipop 5.1.1 version (1) and the KitKat 4.4.4 version 6 (2)!

    I have a request…
Is there any way you could add Ethernet (eth0) support to your build? It would be awesome! PLEASE!

There is a lot on ICS patch for Ethernet UI support but nothing on Lollipop or KitKat 🙁

  8. I don’t know if the site it’s a mess (too much different font sizes) or it’s me, but i can’t find any direct download to the file, everything it’s payloadz

  9. I buy yesterday your 5.1 android version and have install it on a usb penn drive Everything works fine except the Play store it crash everytime when i try to open it I have that ubgrated to the newerst vesion the same the google play services but nothing Only by rebooting Android that works but whene i try to update a apllication then that crash What can i do;Sorry about my bad englisch

  10. I just found your site, and I must say, this looks intriguing. Do you think there’s any way to boot/install it on a (x86) Nexus Player? If so, how good is the touch screen support? I’m thinking of a 23 inch tablet on my kitchen wall.

  11. Is this OS working on a 32bit Z2370 Tablet featuring UEFI without legacy boot?

Android IA just keeps on Kernel Panic right after grub.
    Android X86 does the same.
Asus T100 Android kitkat iso does end up with “terminating efi services” after grub.

  13. Hi
I am ready to buy it only if I have the confirmation that the VPN is 100% working (no missing tun.ko module).
Can you please test it and answer.
    Thank you

  14. Hi.
    Thank for the prompt answer.
If tun.ko can’t be loaded, OpenVPN won’t work as it is using it.
Have you planned to build a tun.ko for x86 and for your kernel? The sources are available in some git

  15. I saw your link to droidvpn. How could I download the tun.ko file alone? It seems I am obliged to install an android emulator and then to root it. Just for a single file even without knowing if it will work…

  16. Hi Good evening. I paid US$ 9.0 and bought build 160904. Now I see that latest update is Android-x86_64 Nougat 7.0 – Build 161107 – with GAPPS and kernel 4.4.27-exton-android-x86_64. How do I download this ? I have already paid US$ 9.0 through paypal and downloaded 160904. I need the updated version.

  17. @exton – Do you know if the latest build works on the Surface Pro 3? Specifically, I’m interested in the WiFi and sensors (auto rotate).

  18. Hi,

a simple question which I could not find an answer for:
How can I do an upgrade to a newer version without overwriting my data?

I installed your Exton Android-x86 6.0.1 a long time ago (2016) on my touchscreen-enabled Lenovo Yoga. Now I would like to upgrade this rather dated Android installation to a newer version, preferrably to 7.1.2 or, in case an upgrade is not possible/advisable, at least to a newer build of 6.0.1 which presumably features a newer Kernel version and thus hopefully less issues with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on my strange hardware. (Ubuntu 16.04LTS also has issues with it.)

Obviously I have to pay 9$ again, that’s okay — but I don’t want to reinstall all apps, and in particular I do not want to re-install their data (Amazon offline music, ebooks, travel guides, OSMand offline maps, etc.)

I have a running Linux system on the same machine from which I can mount the Android partition, so backing up entire directories with tar/cpio/etc. or even retaing a partition image using dd is not a problem.

    Best regards,

    • Many apps for Android 6.0.1 won’t work in Android 7.1.2. Since you can mount your Android partition do that and backup your installed apps from data/apps. Also downloaded files from data/media/0.

Many apps have to be reinstalled.

  19. Hola…
Crees que pueda instalarlo en una tablet pipo m6 pro, también si lo puedo poner en castellano y cual de todas las isos seria la adecuada.

  21. Hello.
I am running Android x86 nougat on my pc but it looks like i have to come over to your side.
I need only the 4 apps to work. Netlix, Amazon prime, DSTV Now App and Showmax. these are all streaming video apps that give me DRM error when i try to run them on android x86 because i assume android x86 is rooted and the apps do not want to run on the rooted version of android.

  22. Hi Exton,
